Relish is a verb and a noun

Relish Culinary Adventures is a unique Sonoma County event business that brings together talented chefs/instructors and exquisite cuisine at captivating rural locations, creating unforgettable cooking experiences, culinary excursions and creative events.

After 15 years hosting events in our downtown Healdsburg space, we’ve returned to our adventurous roots, offering "roving" culinary experiences at some of our favorite Healdsburg area locations, such as scenic vineyards, sustainable family farms, local food producers and other unique venues. These events provide an even deeper connection to the land and the rich, authentic flavors of Sonoma County.

Every event brings people together over great food and celebrates the richness of Sonoma County by featuring locally-grown and locally-produced ingredients, including artisan cheeses, olive oils, north coast seafood, seasonal farm-fresh produce and locally-ranched meats.

As a recipient of the Snail of Approval certification from Slow Food, we proudly support local chefs, farmers, and food purveyors who truly make our culinary adventures possible.

Whether you’re seeking an intimate cooking class, a memorable private or corporate gathering or an unforgettable culinary tour, Relish Culinary Adventures invites you to explore the tastes and experiences that define the essence of Sonoma County.

Donna del Rey - Founder/Owner

Donna created Relish Culinary Adventures in 2003 to share the flavors and personalities of Sonoma County with others. After more than two decades in various marketing and business development roles for an industry-leading scientific software company, a move to Sonoma County with its bounty of amazing foods and makers solidified her desire to transition to the culinary world. Donna is not a professional chef; she sees herself as an adventurous learner eager to share memorable food experiences. “A Relish event is so much more than a class," says Donna. "We find the intersection between ingredients, instructors and locations to create convivial culinary adventures with the goal of inspiring guests to create great food in their own kitchens." Donna is a proud member of Slow Food and Les Dames d'Escoffier. She and her husband Jim Morris, a wine industry professional, make a lovely food and wine pairing.

To gauge interest in a local cooking education program, Relish started offering cooking classes in 2003 at various places in and around Healdsburg, like private homes, wineries, art galleries, cafes, and farms. The idea of a “roving” cooking school was so successful that Relish bought a 1952 Chevy Panel Truck to move equipment to different scenic locations. The truck sat mostly idle as a beacon when most events were held at the Relish Culinary Center (closed in 2023), but she is now back in use. When asked, "Where is Relish now?", the answer is “Wherever the truck is!”
