A Relish cooking experience is the perfect complement to your wine country visit. From the pop of a cork to the joy of savoring the just-created meal, cook like a local with the chefs and ingredients that make Sonoma County a recognized culinary destination.

From leisurely cooking with friends or family to a high-energy team cooking competition, Relish specializes in private cooking parties that celebrate the rich bounty of our region. By engaging in a hands-on culinary experience, your group—be it family, friends, or colleagues—will not only enjoy creating delicious dishes but also forge lasting memories in a lively and interactive setting. These gatherings provide an opportunity to learn new cooking skills while savoring the flavors of Sonoma County, making for a unique and enjoyable evening that goes beyond a typical dining experience.

You select the date, location and menu and Relish takes care of all the rest. A full service experience well beyond “a chef and a bag of groceries”, Relish provides all needed kitchen equipment, aprons, cutting boards and knives, and even worktables if needed, in addition to fresh ingredients.

Location options include scenic partner wineries and farms or we can cook at a location of your choosing, including a private home.

Menus are refreshed throughout the year to ensure peak-of-season flavors and dietary restrictions are respected and accommodated.

Each event is led by a professional instructor, supported by a dedicated Relish event manager and staff to ensure all participants get the attention they need. Guests not only savor the cuisine prepared during the class, but they also receive recipes for all dishes to recreate the experience at home.

From Farmers’ Market-inspired classes to Wild Mushroom forays, a Relish culinary class is always an adventure. Pop-up-style classes with varying combinations of locations, chefs and menus yield one-of-a-kind experiences. All events:

  • Have a casual, relaxed and festive vibe

  • Engage all participants, from beginners to more experienced cooks

  • Are hosted at a scenic Sonoma County locations, such as a vineyard, farm, winery or private home

  • Culminate with guests sitting to dine on a hearty meal (unless otherwise noted)

  • Are guided by professional and knowledgeable instructors—local chefs, restaurateurs, caterers, artisans, experts, winemakers and more

  • Are chock full of new techniques, creative recipes, unique local ingredients and fresh ideas

Other important information about our classes:

  • Most hands-on classes are limited to 20 students and last 3 hours unless otherwise noted.

  • The minimum age for unaccompanied participation in a Relish class is 16 years. People aged 12 -15 are welcome to attend most classes if accompanied by an adult over 21 years old. Please contact us if you would like to bring a guest younger than 16 to ensure the class is appropriate for a younger person.

ADDITIONAL HANDS-ON COOKING DETAILS

  • Hands-on classes allow participants to create the meal from scratch under the guidance of a chef

  • Guests receive copies of all recipes and full meal portions of all menu items unless otherwise noted

  • For hands-on cooking, we suggest casual, comfortable, layered clothing and closed-toed, sturdy shoes.

  • Staff for each class includes the chef-instructor, a Relish event manager and a varying number of event assistants based on the type and size of the class.

  • We reserve the right to substitute menu items and ingredients due to availability.
